Internet Living Swahili Dictionary		   The Council of African Union (AU) has overwhelmingly supported a proposal presented by the Tanzanian delegation that Kiswahili becomes one of the working languages of the Union.



Der Rat der neugegründeten Afrikanischen Union hat den Vorschlag der tansanischen Delegation untersützt, Kisuaheli als eine der Arbeitssprachen der Union anzuerkennen.
     
Swahili language is the only language in Africa that can technically be classified as a true "Lingua franca." Unlike most other African languages it is a non tribal language (see its history), rather it is more of an intra-national language of the Eastern Central and Southern Africa. It is currently estimated that well over 100 million people use Swahili for communication.

Kisuaheli ist die einzige Sprache in Afrika, die grenzübergreifend im östlichen, zentralen und südlichen Teil des Kontinents gesprochen wird. Es wird geschätzt, dass gegenwärtig etwa 100 Millionen Menschen in dieser Sprache kommunizieren.

Little Pigeon,
carry my greetings


Little pigeon, carry my greetings to that beloved of mine. Explain to her so she understands that I'm troubled , anxious  and worried, sickness has fallen upon me.

All night I lie awake 
and she's the reason why.
If she doesn't come into my life disgrace will come to me.  My love for her hasn't died, that is what tortures me. Pigeon do not get tired,  go and bring back the answer. Go, get there quickly, run to my lady, 
in her presence, speak up, She is the one who can cure me. 

When you arrive, please
talk to her prudently. 
If you speak harshly, 
you will only spoil matters.
Tell her I have no more strength, It wouldn't be surprising if I died.		   Njiwa peleka salamu

Njiwa peleka salamu
kwa yule wangu muhibu
Umueleze afahamu
kwamba napata taabu
Taabani mahamumu
Maradhi yamenisibu.

        Usiku kucha nakesha
Na yeye ndiye sababa
Iwapo haji maisha
Hanifika aibu
Pendo langu halijesha
Ndilo  liloniadhibu.
Njiwa usiajizike
Nenda ulete majibu

Erklär es ihr so, daß sie versteht, daß ich sehr leide. 
Ich bin erkrankt.

Sag ihr, dass ich keine Kraft mehr habe und es keine Überraschung sein wird, wenn ich sterbe.
