CHAPTER 52

Welcome, Herr Gert Flegeskamp!

„Theories of conspiracies will be put aside immediately, because they are coming out of the spinning mill of people who suffer from lively imagination. I am of different opinion. We are living in an age where prognosis is based on collected data. When it comes to theories of conspiracies — imagine — facts would be separated from presumptions and imputations, and prognosis would be based on verified facts only; then a couple of dirty tricks would look differently in history-books.“

Well, your opinion is known to us, Herr Flegeskamp; we allowed ourselves to quote it right at the beginning of our parallel travel on Internet … And there, on hundreds of websites, you are covering almost every sphere of life in modern civilisation with the suspicion to be somehow manipulated by a handful of influential financiers and of their political handymen.

ATTENTION, Mr. Rockefeller! This gentleman here has collected facts that construe a connection between the Rockefeller-Dynasty with — o yes, again, — Henry Kissinger! And this time it is about an effort to use food as weapon!

Herr Flegeskamp, you are based in the Federal Republic of Germany, Rhönstrasse 17, D-63071 Offenbach. This is the sender’s address for the occasional letter to a member of the German Bundestag? We quote:

To the Honourable MdB, Frau Uta Zapf,

I am writing to you in your function as MP, representing the SPD (Social Democratic Party) of that ward of Offenbach I am living in; and I am requesting you to vote against the Genetic Engineering Act soon to be brought before Parliament by Minister Horst Seehofer.
Genetic engineering does contain risks that cannot be calculated. From my point of view, it is not serving to overcome hunger in the world — this would be possible with conventional methods — but to control it. This intention can also be deducted from a strategy paper published in 1990 and formulated by Henry Kissinger under the code „NSSM 200“. This document clarifies that it is the strategy of the U.S.A. to keep countries of the Third World struggling for food in order to secure access to their resources at any time.
It is, from my point of view, disgusting and illegal to hold patents on genes of plants or, for that matter, on any kind of living organism (flora and fauna). Such patents intend to introduce the so-called terminator-gene which will force farmers worldwide to buy always new seed in order to sow. This makes them directly dependent on companies that own patents, e.g. the German company BAYER CROP SCIENCE …
As in Germany, some eighty per cent of seeds are still grown independently. Should the cartel of a few pharmaceutical companies that own patents on gene-seed succeed in its effort to force hybrid and terminator-gene on the market then the world population’s access to staple food like wheat, maize, millet, rice, potatoes could be controlled and the strategy as described in Kissinger’s „NSSM 200“-document would become a threatening reality …
The complexity of artificial mutations is causing, among others, an alteration of proteins, which then can be transferred easily through pollination onto wild plants. The presently raging bird flu is showing that nature is not functioning the way, as we humans would like it to do.
For all these reasons I am pleading with you to vote against any extension of the so-called „green gene technology“ and also to influence the opinion making of your colleagues in this sense.

With kind regards …

Reply of Frau Uta Zapf, Honourable Member of German Parliament:

Esteemed Herr Flegeskamp,

I am thanking you heartily for your letter with regard to the Genetic Engineering Act.
Originally, it had been on the agenda for the plenary session on 19th of January; however, the debate was cancelled at short notice. It has been postponed to February or March.
Background of postponement is the critique, also presented by you, and voiced by members of several fractions, among them the SPD-fraction. As already made public during previous debates, the SPD-fraction is rather more critical towards the act.
You can be assured that the time won through postponement will be used for consultation in expert-groups of the fractions in order to ventilate different interests and possible effects of an act.

With kind regards …

Herr Flegeskamp, you will certainly be in a position to shed more light on the background of this exchange of letters …

„Well, the German Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Horst Seehofer …“

… „Will be in this position until October of next year; afterwards he will continue his career as Bavaria‘s Prime Minister and Chairman of his party, the CSU. As successor in the position of the Federal Minister of Agriculture we are still getting to know Frau Ilse Aigner from his Bavarian party.“ ...

Thank you, Herr Dunkler, for your foresight!

„… wants to cancel in Germany privileges for bio-agriculture and, instead, promote what is called the ‚green gene technology‘. That follows, as laid down in the coalition government‘s agenda, the intention to invest in ‚new future technologies‘. It means, at the same time, that a return to biological agriculture, which would make sense economically and ecologically, will be phased out.
The already mentioned Kissinger-document with the code ‚NSSM 200‘, published in 1990 but formulated already in the Seventies, recommends to control countries of the Third World through the supply of food in order to have at all times unhindered access to natural resources of these countries. In this context, a quote by Henry Kissinger is of interest: “

‚Dominate energy and you dominate nations. Dominate food and you dominate human beings.‘

„In 2003, a few weeks after the American occupation of Baghdad, George W. Bush declared as a ‚strategic priority‘ of the U.S.A. to have the prohibition of imports of genetically modified plants in countries of the European Union abandoned. The new soft course via the U.S.A. declared by Chancellor Merkel and her will to declare gene technology as a strategic goal for German research, even against the will of the German people, is indicating her preparedness to act also against the present limitation for genetically modified plants within the European Union.
However, Bush’s ‚strategic priority‘‚ is hinting that his final goal is to use biotechnology to control the availability of food, food not only for human consumption but also for livestock.
Promises given by researchers with regard to so many alleged advantages of gene technology have, above all, one hitch: these researchers are, without any exemption, employed by the pharmaceutical industry (mainly U.S.-American) which owns the gene patents.
I am always touched once I am told in the image-campaigns of this industry how their research is caring for my well-being and for that of the world. My well-being and yours is completely of no interest to them. Their only interest is to make money.
Do you remember ‚Contergan‘? Although it was suspected already for a long time, that ‚Contergan‘ seemed to have been responsible for the deformation of embryos, the responsible pharma-company did not take it from the market but argued, a context could not be established scientifically. You see, responsibility for the well-being of the world is existing only in PR-spots of those corporate conglomerates.
But, let’s go back to the functioning of gene technology. The idea to have a gene in a plant exchanged like a battery in a recorder is very naïve. Compare it with another event, the exchange of a none-functioning kidney against a donated one. This won’t happen without problems because a body will always try to refuse alien genes. In order to implant a gene the technology is using a so-called vector, which helps to smuggle the gene into the cell. The vector is quite often a bacteria or a virus. In addition, so-called promoters are used to prevent the cell from refusing the alien gene; and to monitor the success a ‚antibiotic resistant marker-system‘ will be added. This procedure will be repeated until the researchers believe to have reached a result.
There you have already a problem for the human or animal organism. Quite often, such antibiotic resistance is transferred; and an organism becomes resistant against antibiotics, a major disadvantage in case of illness.
‚The British Medical Association‘ examined GM-food (GM=Genetically Modified) and came in its study to a definite conclusion:
‚The use of antibiotic resistant marker-genes in GM-food should be prohibited. The risk for human health through antibiotic resistance developed by micro-organisms must be seen as one of the greatest dangers for health in the 21st century.‘
However, that’s not all!
Once an organism has been manipulated with an alien gene, this organism will start processes of a bio-energetic and of a bio-chemical kind. This is a reaction of the organism to adapt to the alien gene. As a result, substances can be developed that, through pollination or other ways of natural dissemination, can be transferred onto other plants, onto human beings or onto animals. Poisonous substances can come into being which did not exist before in such organisms.
A study, undertaken in the U.S.A., concluded that illnesses caused by food have risen by forty per cent since GM-food is on the market there.
Once you have it in circulation, you can’t recall it like a defect car-model.“ …

Hold on, Herr Flegeskamp ...
Our media-advisor just suggests easing the volume of your heavy data with some poetry. At another fitting point, we had already quoted a ballade by Heinrich Heine, he argues. We should not leave out Germany’s top-poet, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe; and now, he thinks, he could offer something fitting.
Listen to the ballade about the „The Sorcerer's Apprentice“, written by the Geheimrat in 1797 — some two hundred years ago! — and translated for us online into English by Mrs. Brigitte Dubiel … Please, Herr Dunkler, your stage!

Good! The sorcerer, my old master
left me here alone today!
Now his spirits, for a change,
my own wishes shall obey!
Having memorized
what to say and do,
with my powers of will I can
do some witching, too!

Go, I say,
Go on your way,
do not tarry,
water carry,
let it flow abundantly,
and prepare a bath for me!

Come on now, old broom, get dressed,
these old rags will do just fine!
You’re a slave in any case,
and today you will be mine!
May you have two legs,
and a head on top,
take the bucket, quick
hurry, do not stop!

Go, I say,
Go on your way,
do not tarry,
water carry,
let it flow abundantly,
and prepare a bath for me.

Look, how to the bank he’s running!
and now he has reached the river,
he returns, as quick as lightning,
once more water to deliver.
Look! The tub already
is almost filled up!
And now he is filling
every bowl and cup!

Stop! Stand still!
Heed my will!
I've enough
of the stuff!
I've forgotten — woe is me!
what the magic word may be.

Oh, the word to change him back
into what he was before!
Oh, he runs, and keeps on going!
Wish you’d be a broom once more!
He keeps bringing water
quickly as can be,
and a hundred rivers
he pours down on me!

No, no longer
can I let him,
I must get him
with some trick!
I’m beginning to feel sick.
What a look! - and what a face!

O, you ugly child of Hades!
The entire house will drown!
Everywhere I look, I see
water, water, running down.
Be you damned, old broom,
why won’t you obey?
Be a stick once more,
please, I beg you, stay!

Is the end
not in sight?
I will grab you,
hold you tight,
with my axe I’ll split the brittle
old wood smartly down the middle.

Here he comes again with water!
Now I’ll throw myself upon you,
and the sharpness of my axe
I will test, o spirit, on you.
Well, a perfect hit!
See how he is split!
Now there’s hope for me,
and I can breathe free!

Woe is me! Both pieces
come to life anew,
now, to do my bidding
I have servants two!
Help me, o great powers!
Please, I’m begging you!

And they’re running! Wet and wetter
get the stairs, the rooms, the hall!
What a deluge! What a flood!
Lord and master, hear my call!
Ah, here comes the master!
I have need of Thee!
from the spirits that I called
Sir, deliver me!

“Back now, broom,
into the closet!
Be thou as thou
wert before!
Until I, the real master
call thee forth to serve once more!”

Thanks, Herr Dunkler! Your cue, Herr Flegeskamp!

„We are being told they want to make plants resistant against pest. But nature does not know pest, and luckily so because human beings may fall under such category. Nature knows only organisms. Many of them do harm to others but, quite often unnoticed by men, they may be necessary for the continuation of nature as a whole in one way or another. Resistance against something that is specified by men as pest may lead to the adaptation of the pest and to the release of an even more aggressive organism.
Weed — another specification made by men — in the surrounding of plants can mutate into a super-weed, which cannot be fought anymore with conventional means as it has happened in Argentina.
Bush and Co. don’t want fight hunger in the world but want to control it, want to use it as an instrument of power, even to control the growth of population. The document ‚NSSM 200‘ which stands for ‚National Security Study Memorandum 200‘ carries the title ‚Consequences of General Growth of Population for American Interests regarding Security and Overseas‘. It was written three decades ago under supervision of the then U.S.-Security Advisor Henry Kissinger.
This secret document, made available to the public only in 1990, describes the growth of population in countries of the Third World as a strategic threat to the need of resources for the U.S.A. and Western Europe. The alleged threat is seen in the possibility that developing countries may want to use strategic resources like oil, gas, valuable metals for their own development.
The journal ‚Freitag‘ — FRIDAY — wrote on 5th November 2004:

‚A consequence of NSSM-200 was that the U.S.A. made financial support dependent on the introduction of control-measures with regard to population growth — even when it came to financing emergency supply to prevent starvation. The International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the United Nations, all of them agreed on the same linking „Aid-Programmes only against Birth-Control“.‘

In 1971, a structure appeared which was called ‚Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research / CGIAR‘. It had worldwide sixteen research-centres and it was a creation by Ford Foundation, World Bank and Rockefeller Foundation. CGIAR’s funding of annually three-hundred and fifty million dollar was designated to the transfer of genetically modified plants to developing countries; in other words, a practical version of ‚NSSM 200‘ was set in motion whereby the U.S.-government chose to remain in the background. All planning was done under the umbrella of CGIAR, and under this umbrella representatives of the Rockefeller Foundation, of the World Bank and of the U.S.-government would meet with representatives of MONSANTO and other giants of the agricultural and pharmaceutical industry, always under the credo to support a ‚sustainable agriculture for secure food-production‘.
Consequently, CGIAR succeeded in its effort to influence government to win control over the worldwide biggest pools of resources of genetically modified plants and to allow companies like MONSANTO and SYNGETA access in order — as they claim:
‚to make available new gene-combinations that would increase productivity in a sustainable way‘.
At the same time, CGIAR strongly supported dissemination of biotechnologies in developing countries. They picked from there the most talented scientists to train them further, and they took care that returning scientists would spearhead in their homelands the use of genetically modified plants in agriculture and biotechnology.
The Rockefeller-Foundation is, in addition to its role as co-founder of CGIAR, major financier of the ‚International Service For The Acquisition of Agri-Biotech Applications / ISAAA‘. This agency was established ‚to facilitate the delivery of patent-protected biotechnologies from commercial laboratories of the industrialised world into the food- and agricultural systems of the South‘.
Now, who profits from such an arrangement?
Let’s have a look on the list of sponsors of ISAAA; next to the Rockefeller Foundation, there are:
MONSANTO (U.S.A.), SYNGENTA (SWITZERLAND), DOW AGROSCIENCES (U.S.A.), PIONIER HI-BRED (U.S.A.), CARGILL (U.S.A.), BAYER CROP-SCIENCE (GERMANY) and USAID, A DEPARTMENT OF THE U.S.-GOVERNMENT that is the agency for implementation and monitoring of American aid-programmes.
All of them argue that growing numbers of population in developing countries make the issue of food-security a burning problem but that these countries do not have the economic resources to cope with it. ISAAA would therefore, as an ‚honest broker‘, facilitate the introduction of industrial gene-technology and of genetically modified seed.
As Henry Kissinger’s ‚NSSM 200‘ took aim at thirteen states with regard to a reduction of population growth, ISAAA has now targeted twelve countries for the consumption of genetically modified grain. Six of them are identical with those on Kissinger’s list of 1974: Mexico, Brasilia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Egypt. Added are now: Malaysia, Vietnam, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Argentina and Costa Rica.
To dry up resistance against GM-grain ISAAA is launching a propaganda campaign. Randy Hautea, Head of ISAAA‘s South East Asia Centre, said recently that focus is on Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam because there is ‚the political will to adapt bio-technology‘. What Hautea didn’t say: — the use of GM-seed will entail the use of expensive GM-oriented pesticides as well as infrastructural measures, which can be provided by global agricultural businesses only.
In fact, food-production in affected countries will be re-modelled in a way that it can feed global markets; it will not be tailored for local use. Hautea did not say how biotechnology brought by SYNGETA and MONSANTO to Indonesia or Malaysia will be of advantage to the small scale farmer who is, in those countries, the heart of local food production. There does not exist, until today, proof of an advantage of genetically manipulated grain for farmer families — the opposite is the case.
Quite often, farmers will be forced by their governments to buy GM-seed from MONSANTO and other companies.
Thanks to the ISAAA-network it is the Rockefeller Foundation which sits in the centre of the global expansion of MONSANTO, DUPONT, CARGILL, DOW AGRI-SCIENCES and other Biotech-giants — the Rockefeller Foundation is dominating the ‚new green revolution‘, as the Head of the foundation, Gordon Conway, calls the conquest of foreign agricultural markets.
You see, almost every time when we tried to meddle with nature we had to learn that nature reacts differently, not following our intentions. But … who knows? We have tried for millenniums to extinguish each other; perhaps, with this gene-technology we have found the ultimate tool …
Nature has tried for billions of years to adapt it, step by step, to climate change and to other alternating conditions; it made mistakes that did lead to the extinction of species. Men, the most arrogant of all species, thinks they can do better than nature?
How presumptuous!“ …

„You said it yourself, a nutty alarmist from Germany! We are blessed that our friend Henry Kissinger emigrated, together with his parents, in 1938, to my United States of America.“ …

Take it easy, Mr. Rockefeller!
We are still digesting the fact that the world shall be blessed by the House of Rockefeller — after „LIGHT“ and after „PEACE“ — now even with a „GREEN REVOLUTION“.

We are sure, the issue will be soon on our schedule again … but now we are moving to a rail siding because there is something waiting for us …
